Therapy can be a compassionate space for insight, personal development, and healing. Each one of us has our own unique history and growth process. My goal is to support your overall mental, emotional, and relational health. I work with anxiety, trauma, grief, and internal self criticism. Within these experiences I specialize in: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related anxiety disorders; complex trauma including dissociation, depersonalization, derealization, and fear; grief and bereavement; intrusive self criticism; and helping couples identify and repair unhealthy patterns and coping mechanisms related to these experiences. I offer a holistic and integrated approach to therapy, meeting you where you are and listening to your unique story. Together, we will create a therapeutic path toward your personal goals. By focusing on your inner wisdom and compassion, we can navigate your healing journey, addressing experiences and fostering growth in a way that feels right for you. I believe that the client-therapist alliance is the most important aspect of therapy. It is fundamental to our work that you feel safe, seen, and supported. Our sessions together focus on your needs and goals, in an environment centered in compassion, non-judgment, and deep listening. If this resonates with you, please contact me for a free consultation. I am a Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Julia Fisher.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Before becoming a therapist, I gained over 10 years of experience in providing non-clinical counseling services. These included roles such as Director of Care Services and senior Care Team member for an international peer-support organization. Additionally, I served as the director of a teen leadership wilderness adventure program and worked as a meditation teacher. In 2023, I was invited to Harvard University Medical School to co-lead a training for Post-Doctoral Fellows in Integrative Medicine. The focus was on exploring how specific types of meditation can potentially exacerbate anxiety and dissociation, leading to experiences resembling Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Depersonalization and Derealization Disorder (DPDR). This training delved into the neuroscience underlying Meditation-Related Adverse Effects (MRAEs) and discussed optimal care modalities for managing conditions such as increased anxiety and dissociation. I have specialized training in engaging with OCD and related anxiety disorders through Exposure Response Prevention Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy. For several years I studied and worked with one of the world's leading experts in trauma and dissociation. I have also studied and taught Compassion Training for a decade as a meditation teacher to help others heal their inner critics.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

About some of the tools I draw from: Somatic Therapy offers a gateway to process feelings in your body. Behavioral Therapy helps you reshape unhealthy patterns linked to thoughts and feelings. Compassion Focused Therapy equips you with tools for positive self-development, addressing the inner critic as well as feelings of shame and guilt. Together, we identify your therapeutic pathway.

More information on payments and coverage

I accept private pay and clients using their out of network insurance benefits coverage. Out of network insurance benefits coverage allows you to contact your insurance and ascertain what your coverage is, and if they allow that coverage to be accessed via a specific type of bill, called a super-bill, that I provide you. You then submit that bill to your insurance for insurance for full or partial reimbursement. Please note this means that I do not work with the insurance company directly, and it allows you to be reimbursed for private payments, rather than me billing the insurance directly. .
