Getting to know Danara Johnson

Hello, I'm Danara. I'm passionate about creating a safe and supportive atmosphere to help you explore and find your authentic self and voice. I believe in tailoring the treatment to the individual and am comfortable using mind-body techniques and cognitive-behavioral interventions as needed for anxiety, depression, relational issues, and substance use concerns. Of special interest to me is working with couples and other relationship dynamics. I have post-graduate training in Gottman therapy - a method developed and backed up with decades of research. I am also working towards my Sex Therapy certification and can help with relationship issues from mismatched libido, to consensual non-monogamy, as well as individual concerns around sexuality or gender identity. I am LGBTQIA and Kink friendly. When I’m not wearing my therapist hat, I’m hiking with my dog, Wookie (who is in training to be a therapy dog!), or working on my 13-acre homestead in Conifer, CO, where I live with my partner, three children, two dogs, two cats, a bunny, seven goats, twenty chickens, and four pigs. I hold an MSW and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Addiction Counselor. My approach is to meet you where you are and support you in navigating life's challenges. Whether you're dealing with stress, exploring your spirituality, or seeking support for intimate and romantic relationships, I'm here to help.
