I HAVE BEEN WORKING IN CLINICAL SETTINGS FROM 1985 TO THE PRESENT. MY FIRST JOB WAS WORKING WITH RUN AWAY TEENS IN BOSTON AND LAWRENCE MASSACHUSETTS. I DID MY GRADUATE SCHOOL INTERNSHIPS AT HARLEM HOSPITAL AND NORTH CENTRAL BRONX HOSPITAL. I WAS ALWAYS COMPELLED TO FIND TALENTED TEACHERS AND SUPERVISORS AND HAVE BEEN SO FORTUNATE IN MY MENTORS. MY FIRST JOB OUT OF GRADUATE SCHOOL WAS WORKING IN BEDFORD-STUYVESANT IN AN OUTPATIENT MENTAL HEALTH SETTING. IT WAS TREMENDOUSLY SATISFYING AND VERY HARD WORK. MY SUPERVISOR AT THE TIME, PAUL MOSES, A BRILLIANT PSYCHOANALYST FROM THE HEART OF AN IMPOVERISHED ALABAMA HOME, TAUGHT ME ABOUT CULTURE AND ITS SILENT IMPACT ON GROUPS AND IDENTITY. AT THE LOWER EASTSIDE SERVICE CENTER IN THE HEART OF CHINATOWN I WORKED WITH IMPOVERISHED FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD GENERATION IMMIGRANTS TO THIS COUNTRY. AT GRACIE SQUARE HOSPITAL AT THEIR DUAL DIAGNOSIS UNIT, I LEARNED HOW PEOPLE GET LOST IN ADDICTIONS TO MANAGE THEIR EMOTIONAL PAIN AND ALONENESS.
AT MT. SINAI HOSPITAL, AT THE TRAUMATIC STRESS STUDIES PROGRAM, I WORKED WITH DR. RACHEL YEHUDA, A LEADING EXPERT ON POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER. WE DEVELOPED TREATMENT PARADIGMS FOR WAR VETERANS, GENOCIDE SURVIVORS AND THEIR CHILDREN. FOR NEARLY 30 YEARS OF MY CAREER I HAVE PROVIDED CLINICAL CONSULTATIONS THROUGH EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS FOR Fortune 500 COMPANIES AND WHITE SHOE FINANCIAL FIRMS; MORGAN STANLEY, DEUTSCHE BANK, NBC, DUPONT, ARE A FEW OF THE COMPANIES I HAVE PROVIDED SERVICES FOR.OVER THE PAST 5 YEARS I HAVE BEEN LONG DISTANCE TEACHING IN CHINA. We tried couples therapy before, but it felt useless. My husband did not want to see a woman, thought he would get genped up on. Dan was really calming presence for us that helped us deal with infertility issues.

Dan is a fantastic couples therapist. His approach is very unique because he incorporated individual psychotherapy for each of us, rather than just treating us as a couple in a behavioral way. It was almost like a two-for-one with therapy lol!
