What should a new client know about working with you?

I approach consultations with a structured and thorough clinical perspective. My goal is to understand the full picture of what an individual may be experiencing rather than focusing on symptoms in isolation. During the consultation, I ask targeted questions about emotional functioning, attention and concentration, executive functioning, stress, and past treatment experiences in order to better understand the nature of the concerns that brought someone in. Many individuals seek consultations when they are trying to determine whether their experiences may be related to conditions such as attention difficulties, anxiety, depression, or other psychological concerns. The consultation allows us to review these questions carefully and determine whether psychological testing, therapy, or another type of service may be appropriate. My goal is for individuals to leave the consultation with a clearer understanding of their concerns and practical guidance regarding the most appropriate next steps for their care.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During a consultation, I meet with individuals to discuss their concerns, symptoms, and goals for seeking psychological services. The consultation provides an opportunity to review emotional, behavioral, or cognitive concerns and determine the most appropriate next steps for care. Based on the discussion, recommendations may include psychological testing, therapy, specialized services, or referrals to other providers when appropriate. The goal of the consultation is to provide clarity regarding your concerns and help guide you toward the most appropriate treatment or evaluation options.
