Psychotherapist
3 Columbus Cir, 15th Fl, New York, NY
I'm a licensed clinical social worker with a Master's in Social Work from Columbia University and a Bachelor's from Tel Aviv University. I also completed a fellowship at the School of Social Work. My practice is dedicated to the treatment of eating disorders and common co-occurring conditions like anxiety and depression. I specialize in treating trauma and PTSD, which very often contribute to the development and maintenance of eating disorders. I have extensive training and experience in numerous modalities, including Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family-Based Treatment, DBT Solution for Emotional Eating, CBT-ARFID, and DBT-ED. I'm also well equipped to treat trauma and PTSD using the DBT Prolonged Exposure protocol, a well-studied and highly effective model for trauma and common co-occurring challenges like self-harm and suicidal thoughts. I believe being an effective therapist means creating a safe, supportive, and validating environment while using gold-standard treatments backed by science. I will listen, collaborate, motivate, and help you tap into your inner strengths and capabilities.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am direct, open and active in treatment. My approach is behaviorally-oriented and focused on swift movement in therapy to bring a sense of calm and stability to the client's life as soon as possible. I work to balance validation and change in treatment; in other words, I acknowledge and empathize with the struggles while also supporting necessary action to improve one's life circumstances.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I approach therapy with my clients first by creating a safe, warm and honest space. With an established trust and ease in rapport, my clients are most receptive to my approach which is very active, direct and goal-oriented. I want my clients to feel that each session is full and offers opportunity for movement forward. I believe that therapy should have clear direction and an established time frame so the work can be productive and move through phases to an actual finite ending.
