Daphne holds a BA in Psychology with a minor in Disaster Studies from SUNY New Paltz. She then received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from SUNY New Paltz. Her love of learning and developing in this field is seen in her range of exposure to clinical experiences. She has a background of working at a crisis center; with adult clients who experience severe and persistent mental health challenges and substance use disorders; with children and adolescents within the foster care system; with individuals experiencing domestic violence, as well as, other victims of crime. In Daphne’s experience, she has seen how impactful therapy can be because it truly holds so many opportunities that she wants to support you in exploring. The opportunity to explore challenges you might be avoiding; learn new skills to replace old habits; celebrating your successes before immediately jumping to the next task; maintaining healthy relationships with yourself and others; pushing yourself out of your comfort zone while also learning to be able to sit with some uncomfortable feelings; seeking joy in your day to day life, and so much more. She would really love the opportunity to be alongside you while you make the choice and effort to prioritize yourself in your routine by tending to your mental health consistently. If you are experiencing challenges such as emotional instability; lacking motivation or hope; relationship struggles with friends, family, work or romance; anxiety; depression; or a life transition, Daphne will meet you where you are. She will assess your challenges as a whole picture, looking at all the parts and factors that may influence your struggles. Her treatment approach includes creating an individualized plan with methods that best support you throughout this process. Daphne utilizes acceptance and commitment therapy, CBT, narrative therapy and multicultural therapy within her clinical work among other techniques and modalities.
