Getting to know David Goldberg

Hi. My name is David Goldberg, LCSW. I have 18 years of experience working with patients in outpatient psychiatry settings as well as school health. I have worked with individuals who have chronic mental health issues, including depression, anxiety disorders, adjustment disorder, ADHD, bipolar disorder, psychosis, personality disorders, and co-occurring disorders. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from New York University. I provide an eclectic approach to working with my patients. I specialize in adults, families, and adolescents. I believe focusing on present issues is as important as exploring one’s childhood experiences. My specialties include depression, anxiety, OCD, family conflict and relationship issues, as well as grief, loss, and trauma.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am passionate about helping others make changes and improve their lives through support and guidance. I provide a safe therapeutic environment for my patients where they can feel comfortable expressing their innermost thoughts and feelings without being judged.

Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
Initial session: $150 for 60 minutes
Ongoing session: $125-150 for 60 minutes
  • Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront

More information on payments and coverage

I accept check, Venmo and Zelle as forms of payment. I do accept Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield NY, however, video sessions are conducted via a third party platform. Currently, I don't accept Teledoc. I am an out of network provider with Carelon Behavioral Health. This means that the carrier will pay a portion for services rendered but the member will be responsible for remaining balance. Please contact your insurance carrier prior to scheduling to check eligibility and verify benefits.
