Getting to know Dawn Eig

Therapy is a space for you to better understand yourself, work through challenges, and open new possibilities for how to live and connect with others. Together, we’ll explore patterns in your relationships, work, and inner life to uncover what may be holding you back from feeling more fulfilled and at ease. In an earlier chapter of my life, I spent a decade working in finance, an experience that helps me understand the pull between ambition, success, and personal well-being, and how those pressures affect one’s daily life. People I work with are often navigating the lasting impact of earlier experiences, along with present challenges such as relationship issues, career transitions, and a search for deeper fulfillment. My approach is psychodynamic and relational, grounded in how trauma and unconscious patterns shape emotional life. I work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and self-doubt. My goal is to help you find insight, resilience, and the confidence to live with greater self-understanding and authenticity. In this process, I aim to help you move toward a life of deeper freedom, emotional depth, and connection to what truly matters.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am currently seeing patients in person and/or via zoom. My office is in Flatiron, a few blocks south of Madison Square Park, near many train lines. After making an appointment with me online, for a brief initial phone consultation.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I am a graduate of the National Institute for the Psychotherapies Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. My approach is psychoanalytic, which means that we intensively attend to deep inner life in a way that is both emotionally supportive and also leads to personal insights that promote growth and change. My approach is also highly individualized; I adapt myself to the unique needs of each person.

While my fee is $300/session, I do offer a sliding fee scale for patients for whom this fee is prohibitive. I will also adjust my fee for patients who need to be seen more than once a week. Patients with out of network insurance coverage will be able to send my invoices to their insurance companies and be reimbursed for sessions. I am happy to facilitate this process. You can check with your insurance company to see what your policy allows
