Getting to know Dawn Sweeney Kniep

I am Licensed in the state of California as a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), in Kansas as a Licensed Clinical Marriage & Family Therapist (LCMFT) and am registered in the state of Florida as a telehealth provider. While working in the service industry, I completed my BS in Organizational Management & Leadership. As my husband and I were moving towards launching our maturing family, I decided to pursue my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy at Friends University. I began working with individuals, couples and families in a therapeutic capacity in 2013. It was while co-owning and operating a CrossFit box with my husband, I obtained my Health Coach certification to add that and Wellness and Performance Nutrition Coaching to my practice in 2021.

What should a new client know about working with you?

MFTs are trained and qualified to provide therapy to individuals as well as couples, families and other relational systems. I am currently offering therapeutic services virtually to California, Kansas, & Florida residents. It is my desire to be a resource of safety and hope in the lives of individuals as they navigate challenging "seasons" in their life. I firmly believe my clients already have the keys within to improve their situation and simply need an outside perspective. My experience includes and is not limited to treating symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma; I have considerable training & experience working with survivors of sexual abuse/assault and love working with family and parents coping with their loved one's disclosure. I am also uniquely qualified, personally & professionally, to work with blended families at any point in their development.
