In recent years, the paradigm has moved from the stigma around mental health issues and accessing services to a climate that is moving towards embracing mental health and well being and encouraging engagement with treatment. It is absurd to think that our health and well being ends at the physical body. With the advent of social media and more of us being online now more than ever, we are constantly bombarded with information and images of tragedy, social expectations, mass marketing in addition to a multitude of other anxiety provoking information, which can be overwhelming. Couple that with issues we may be dealing with on a more personal level, such as life changes, trauma, loss etc. Well, quite simply our day to day becomes more and more difficult. With over 20 years experience in the field of behavioral health, I have worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings, with multiple issues and diagnoses as well as different populations including children, families, couples and individual adults. My goal is to help anyone who wants to feel better in their day to day and/or rid themselves from the lingering symptoms of past experiences and/or traumas. I have experience and training in multple theoretical apporaches, however one that I have come to embrace is ART, Accelerated Resolution Therapy. ART is an evidence base approach in which eye movements are utilized to quickly resolve symptoms without the need for indepth discussion. If you're interested, let's chat. I'm here to help!
