Getting to know Deborah Slevin
Growing up watching my mother navigate bipolar disorder instilled a passion for mental health and wellbeing in me, leading to a career as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I earned my MEd in Counseling from Wayne State University, which laid the foundation for my work with individuals across the lifespan grappling with anxiety, depression, and stress management. As a former teacher and school counselor, I also have extensive experience with a wide variety of issues children and adolescents face. I practice a person-centered, collaborative approach to counseling while utilizing cognitive behavioral and mindfulness techniques. My role as a therapist is to provide feedback, be witness, offer support, and provide resources as clients seek to achieve therapy goals. I welcome new clients and am dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey to improved mental health.
