Hi there, I'm Debra! Hello, I am Debra Goran, Ph.D., clinical psychologist, with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Case Western Reserve University. Working many years in various settings has allowed me to gain extensive experience with diverse clients. Discovering the tools, resources, and strengths you already possess, we will work together to make the changes you want to see in your life. My approach Having completed two rounds of graduate school, I have learned many ways of conceptualizing and addressing mental health concerns. We will collaborate to choose therapeutic approaches and tools appropriate to your concerns and respectful of your preferences. My focus I am experienced in working with adolescents and adults of all ages, treating traumas, couples of all configurations, depression and anxiety disorders including panic disorder and agoraphobia, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, substance abuse, gender dysphoria and LGBTQ issues, adult autism spectrum disorders, dissociative disorders, domestic violence, and chronic health issues. My communication style I believe warmth, empathy, genuineness, and acceptance provide the atmosphere for growth and healing, with a generous sprinkling of humor. My journey to mental healthcare In my first semester of college, I took a 5-hour honors psychology class and immediately changed my major. I now have a B.A. with honors, two master’s degrees, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Case Western Reserve University. Throughout my second master’s degree and doctorate, I worked as a psychology assistant doing assessments and therapy while furthering my studies. Watching clients learn, grow, and change their lives and relationships continues to be a constant source of joy. It is heartwarming and keeps me young at heart. My goals for you You know how you want to feel and how you want your life to be different.
