Getting to know Deiarra Canty

Dee is a counselor who believes that having a warm, empathetic, and genuine connection with a client is important for building a strong therapeutic relationship. She hopes to create a safe space to grow as a person and improve the overall quality of their life. Dee accepts clients for who they are and assists them in navigating complex emotions and experiences. Her experience includes working with individuals with depression, anxiety, complex trauma, life adjustments, burnout, self-harm, suicide, familial challenges, LGBTQI+, and BIPOC concerns. By utilizing therapeutic techniques of psychoeducation, mindfulness, psychodynamic approaches, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Dee helps to guide clients toward their therapeutic goals. She strives to see every client as a unique individual and is willing to get creative to see what approach works best for them. Dee earned her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and has an advanced certification in Interdisciplinary Trauma Studies from the State University of New York at Oswego. She looks forward to getting to know her clients and being a positive first step towards healing.
