Getting to know Desiree Linton

The provider is a “Licensed Professional Counselor" and their license number is 37PC00749400 I became a therapist because I have always been interested in emotions and their impact on behavior. I am a compassionate listener and aim to be a supportive guide. I pursued a degree in forensic psychology with a minor in addiction studies, followed by a Master's in Counseling from City University of New York, Queens College. I have worked in outpatient clinics, methadone clinics, and private practice. My experiences have given me a variety of resources and techniques to utilize throughout sessions. Sessions are unstructured and focused on supporting you to accomplish your goals. The therapy space is empathetic and nonjudgmental, providing a safe environment to explore thoughts, emotions, behavior, and relationships.

What should a new client know about working with you?

We all go through struggles in life. Sometimes navigating these struggles alone is overwhelming and help is required. I am here to help you navigate through the struggles and work towards accomplishing your goals. Starting therapy is a brave first step towards making positive changes and living the life you desire.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
