I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 8 years of counseling experience. I hold a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and a Bachelor's degree from Ferrum College. My experience lies in working with teens and adults in various areas, including anxiety, depression, women's issues, and LGBTQ presenting concerns. I enjoy helping individuals with identity and empowerment to be their authentic selves. I look forward to working with you!
What should a new client know about working with you?
I seek to help individuals better identify their emotions, find effective ways to cope with intense emotions/experiences, and how to improve confidence within themselves to utilize these skills on their own outside of therapy sessions. I do this through use of an eclectic style of therapy that includes person centered, cognitive behavioral, and solution-focused interventions.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I focus on providing a safe, inclusive, confidential, and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their true selves so that patients can walk away feeling empowered and more in control of their lives. And a good sense of humor is always welcome- this is sometimes the greatest coping skill!
