Dia Austine Roney, LPC

Psychotherapist
WI
I'm Austine, a Licensed Professional Counselor and EMDR-trained therapist specializing in anxiety, trauma, fear, and self-doubt. I founded Alchemy Practice around a simple belief: the experiences that once created fear and hesitation don't have to define your future. With the right support, they can become the foundation for clarity, confidence, and meaningful change. I work with adults who are thoughtful and often high-functioning on the outside, yet internally wrestling with patterns that hold them back. Maybe it's a persistent voice telling you to wait until you're more ready. Maybe it's anxiety that quietly shapes your choices without you fully realizing it. Maybe it's pain from the past that insight alone hasn't been able to touch. My approach blends deep trauma processing with practical emotional skills. I integrate EMDR, Brainspotting, ACT, and DBT-informed strategies so we're not just talking about change — we're actively building it. I'm warm and direct, and I stay genuinely engaged in your healing rather than sitting back as a passive listener. I'm licensed in Wisconsin and Colorado, and I hold additional training in Brainspotting, ACT for values-based living, and advanced trauma and somatic approaches. Therapy here isn't just about reducing symptoms. It's about rediscovering yourself and growing into the version of your life that feels true and whole.

What should a new client know about working with you?

A few things that are helpful to know before we begin: I work best with clients who are ready to go beyond coping. If you're looking to understand the root of your struggles, not just manage them day to day. I'm a good fit for people who are open to trying new skills between sessions and willing to explore what's underneath the surface. My style is warm and direct. I won't simply reflect your words back to you. I'll offer perspective, ask meaningful questions, and gently challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Expect to feel both supported and nudged toward growth. EMDR and Brainspotting are central to the work I do. These are evidence-based approaches that help the brain process experiences that have gotten "stuck" — the ones that still carry emotional weight even when you logically know you've moved past them. I'll always explain what we're doing and why, and we'll move at a pace that feels safe for you. Sessions are typically 55 minutes. I offer a free consultation before we begin so you can ask questions and get a feel for whether working together is the right fit. There's no pressure — finding the right therapist matters, and I want you to feel confident in that choice. I don't prescribe medication, and I'm not the best fit for clients seeking only a space to vent without working toward change. But if you're ready to do something different, I'm here for that.
