Psychotherapist
AZ
Hello, I'm Diana, and I'm so glad you're here. My journey into professional counseling began after a career as a corporate paralegal, where I saw firsthand the disparities in access to opportunities and resources. This realization ignited my passion for mental health and led me to become a licensed psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience in the behavioral health industry. I started my career in residential treatment programs, helping individuals reintegrate into community living after long-term institutionalization. During this time, I earned a Master of Health Administration in Health Science, which allowed me to develop and implement therapeutic changes in existing programs. My interactions with program participants inspired me to pursue a Master of Professional Counseling (MPC) degree, deepening my understanding of suffering and healing. With my MPC, I had the opportunity to lead an integrated assertive community treatment team, work on quality improvement and utilization enhancement, and serve as a crisis therapist lead for police and fire departments in seven southern counties of Arizona. Eventually, I opened my private practice, where I was honored to become the psychotherapist for an alternative high school, a published author, and a therapist interventionist for a 5-year research project. To ensure I provide the best care possible, I utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities, including art therapy, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. My commitment to making a positive impact on mental health is complemented by my dedication to lifelong learning, and I am currently completing a doctoral program at Arizona State University. I specialize in working with individuals facing addiction, anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, LGBTQIA+ support, life transitions, PTSD, stress, and trauma. My approach is compassionate and client-centered, focusing on creating a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. Outside of my professional life, I am passionate about continuous learning and personal growth. I believe in the power of therapy to transform lives and am here to support you on your journey to healing and self-discovery. If you're ready to take the first step towards a healthier, more fulfilling life, I invite you to reach out. Let's work together to achieve your goals and create positive change.
