What should a new client know about working with you?

In our first session, I focus on creating a warm, supportive, and judgment-free space where you can feel comfortable sharing what brings you to therapy. We’ll spend time getting to know you, your current concerns, and what you hope to work on in therapy. We will complete an initial assessment to better understand your symptoms, experiences, and needs. This helps me develop an initial diagnostic impression, if appropriate, and begin identifying treatment goals that are meaningful and realistic for you. You are an active part of this process, and we’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable. By the end of the session, we’ll begin outlining a collaborative plan for treatment moving forward.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I take a client-centered and culturally responsive approach, grounded in the belief that everyone deserves to feel safe, heard, and respected in a supportive, judgment-free space. My work is rooted in trauma-informed care and mindfulness, and I tailor treatment to each person’s unique experiences, needs, and goals. I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Strengths-Based Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). I also incorporate psychoeducation and practical skill-building to support meaningful growth both in and outside of sessions.
