Getting to know Diego Chiluisa
Hello there, I am looking forward to working with you. I provide a non-judgmental perspective on the issues affecting you. I strive to build a healthy framework with my clients so they can feel protected and fit all the pieces of their lives back together. I believe that most of life’s problems have more to do with the way we interpret events than the actual events themselves. I help clients refocus to fix the distorted views they may have about their reality. My goal is to help you believe in yourself so you can improve your life.
I treat ages 12 to 65 and those experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, issues with a variety of relationship types, self-esteem issues, divorce, and infidelity. I use cognitive-behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, EMDR, and motivational interviewing to work with my clients. During sessions with me, you can expect a supportive environment as you build on your strengths and secure space to openly share your thoughts and feelings.
I hold a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from the City University of New York, City College, and a Bachelor’s degree from the City University of New York, Queens College.

My initial consult with Diego had me very comfortable and relaxed as he listened well, was affirming, and shared his approach. I appreciated how smooth the logistics of setting up the appointment, and scheduling subsequent appointments was.
