Donna Naffah, LPC

Donna Naffah, LPC

Psychotherapist
VA
The first session generally includes introductions, establishing rapport, listening to your “story” and setting the tone and pace for future sessions. Life can be incredibly stressful. Many people today are feeling stressed, anxious and even depressed, sometimes all at once. This can seem overwhelming. Sometimes our beliefs and thought processes set us up for mixed messages, catastrophizing and a myriad of other symptoms. I can work with you to build a healthier relationship with stress and anxiety. Let me help you reframe your concerns so that you have multiple options for healthier thought patterns and responses. Are critical or irrational thoughts intruding into your everyday thought processes? I approach therapy with an eclectic assortment of methodologies and tools to individualize our work together to meet your needs best. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as a variety of other therapeutic approaches such as Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Mindfulness-based therapy, the Gottman Method and Exposure Therapy. We will develop a treatment plan together to collaboratively set clear goals for you and we will treat every session as an opportunity to make progress. I love being a therapist because not only do I learn new things every day, but I help individuals do the same. I get to work with people who are being their most authentic selves in an effort to improve their mental and emotional well-being. I feel privileged to be able to engage with clients on a level that creates a safe environment in which they can express themselves freely. Reaching out for help can be scary and I applaud you for having the courage and being ready to try something new.
