If you struggle with anxiety, depression, or trauma, you have found the right therapist. If you have trouble relating to others and often don't believe in yourself, I can help you. Your life might not be what you imagined, and you may feel isolated or like you are going crazy. You are not going crazy. You simply need a counselor who can listen and understand how to help you. I've made it my mission to help you find the best version of yourself so you can live your best life possible. For over 20 years, I've helped adults resolve relationship issues and recover from anxiety, depression, and trauma. I also support people with neurodiverse family members and have personal experience with these unique challenges. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to guide you through your healing journey. Of course, you can try this alone-I've tried that myself and learned to trust somebody and take that risk. Taking the chance to trust someone is scary, but I didn't do it alone. You won't, either. These skills don't come naturally because you haven't received prior instruction on doing this for yourself. That is why we are right here, right now. The benefits of working together include: ? Gaining great relief and a breath of fresh air ? No longer having to go at it alone ? Learning to trust, listen, and validate your ideas As you manage and process your emotions, you will begin to think clearly and maintain your composure. You'll gain more control regardless of the situation, allowing you to regain your life and feel a renewed sense of purpose.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I’m here to give you the respect, support, time, and attention you deserve. You don’t have to fight to be heard; I will listen to you, see you, and believe you. Together, we will take simple, manageable steps to get you back to loving yourself. In our sessions, you will learn to recognize the habits holding you back and develop new tools for regulating your emotions. We can do this. And I will be with you every step of the way.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Visual participation is a must. Part of your therapy sessions will likely include visual techniques through online teletherapy. Many clients find this more effective and convenient than in-person therapy because they are more comfortable in their homes. Some home-bound adults cannot access counseling services because they lack transportation or don’t have the needed technology. Our 50-minute sessions start with welcoming you to the session and asking how you are doing. We begin by discussing if there is anything specifically you would like to discuss. If not, we review our plan and discuss how our previous plans went. We strengthen or learn new skills and techniques. Questions are answered and we make a new plan before you go. Therapy can feel strange at first. When people are not used to having someone listen, it can be overwhelming to be heard and seen. It takes courage and strength to talk about things that make you feel vulnerable. We take steps that are comfortable for you and go at your own pace. We pay attention to where you’re feeling emotion, stress, tension and anxiety in your body and work with it. Therapy works best when you show kindness and compassion to yourself, but it still involves a lot of work. Sometimes therapy can become frustrating, and at other times, it is exciting. Overall, my clients look forward to trying some of the suggested techniques. Our sessions are structured; sometimes, my clients are surprised to learn a new perspective. Many clients say, “I never thought of it like that.” They say they prefer me because I’m blunt but kind and will tell them the truth. There are ebbs and flows, just like in the rest of life. Keep your sessions even when things are going well. Many people don’t get to celebrate these achievements outside of our sessions. We can celebrate your wins together.
