Edie Lauer, MA

Psychotherapist
159 Bleecker St, Ste 2C, New York, NY
I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on a variety of techniques to help clients explore how their past experiences, including early life events, may influence their current functioning, particularly in relationships. While my work is informed by psychodynamic principles, I also incorporate other approaches, such as relational therapy and cognitive-behavioral strategies, to help clients better understand how their behavior and interactions impact their well-being. My goal is to help clients develop greater self-awareness and insight into how past experiences shape their present lives, fostering healing and growth in both personal and relational contexts.I graduated summa cum laude from Hunter College with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. I received my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Baruch College. With a background in working with children and families, I now focus on supporting individuals with a humanistic, collaborative style. I have experience working with clients facing complex challenges, including chronic illness and co-occurring mental health struggles, which informs my work in navigating intricate emotional and behavioral dynamics. I believe we all have the power to change ourselves, and in turn our relationships, through a collaborative and empowering therapeutic relationship.
