Getting to know Elie Dwek

Using a practical and solution-oriented approach, I work collaboratively with my clients to identify and overcome barriers, helping them build the confidence and skills needed to thrive both personally and professionally. Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, or a general sense of feeling stuck, my goal is to provide you with the tools and support to create meaningful and lasting change. I specialize in helping young men navigate the unique challenges and pressures that come with the male experience. My practice focuses on improving self-esteem, strengthening relationships, and addressing issues that are often underrepresented but deeply impactful in men's lives. I am also highly experienced in trauma therapy, particularly in helping individuals recover from early life sexual, physical, and verbal abuse, as well as those grieving the premature loss of a parent. My therapeutic approach centers on empowering clients to reclaim their narratives and regain a sense of control that may have been lost during these traumatic experiences. Other areas of expertise include ADHD, learning disorders, and high-functioning autism. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Simmons University, which has provided a strong foundation for my clinical practice. A background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy equips me with a diverse and robust toolkit to support clients effectively. CBT provides evidence-based strategies to change unhelpful thinking patterns, while ABA offers structured approaches to behavior modification. Narrative Therapy helps clients reshape their personal stories in empowering ways, and Solution-Focused Therapy emphasizes practical, goal-oriented solutions. Together, these modalities allow for a comprehensive, adaptable approach tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, promoting lasting positive change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In our work together, we’ll focus on actionable strategies that lead to real-world results, empowering you to take control of your life and make decisions that align with your values and aspirations. In my outpatient work, I employ a strengths-based perspective, helping clients build on their existing positives rather than dwelling on setbacks. This approach fosters growth, confidence, and self-efficacy, enabling clients to move forward with resilience and purpose.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first visit we intertwine history taking and starting the process of growth and healing in a fluid way. The intention is to be thorough while being patient. The goal is to build mutual trust and respect in moving forward together.

I heard of Elie through a friend, and it was a very good recommendation. He gave me a space to process my grief of losing my friend. He was a kind presence in my time of need and I would have still been struggling to cope had I not worked with him.
Really good and inciteful!
Great at what he does!
Elie was good and was able to navigate certain cultural differences pretty well! He was very reassuring as well and did his research when he wasn't sure how to approach a culturally charged issues.

Elie is an incredibly warm and gifted clinician. He makes the time fly, and therapy feels like natural conversation. I always leave our sessions feeling a better understanding of and trust in myself.
Elie helped me regain some sense of self. I felt very anxious for a very long time. He helped me regain control by giving me tools and allowing me to go at my own pace. Would 100% recommend to others!
Working with Elie was good help! He guided me through some difficult times with my parents. Although there were a lot of tough times he did his best to make sure I was comfortable and never pushed me past where I was at that moment in time.
Elie was so supportive! When my grandmother passed and I struggled to talk in session. He gave me the space I needed. He was very kind and compassionate in helping me with my grief
Elie is dedicated, works through patient-centered care to come up with solutions that I can both agree with and understand, and is very prompt with answering any questions or concerns I have.
Elie was very relatable and helped me work through my challenges in a comfortable open, and nonjudgmental environment. He was very genuine and well equipped to provide a safe setting to explore my challenges.
