Psychotherapist

I believe therapy is more than symptom management- it’s a space for transformation. A place where you can be seen, make meaning of your experiences, and develop a deeper understanding of who you are and what matters to you. I work from a relational, insight-oriented, and trauma-informed perspective, integrating approaches such as EMDR and parts work when helpful. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the impact of trauma, as well as those exploring identity, purpose, and spirituality. I also have particular expertise in psychedelic integration and helping clients build a more intentional, values-aligned relationship with technology.

Getting to know Emily Fishel

I believe therapy is more than symptom management- it’s a space for transformation. I work from a relational, insight-oriented, and trauma-informed perspective, integrating approaches such as EMDR and parts work when helpful. What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental space where all parts of you are welcome. I don’t see you as something to be “fixed,” but as someone to be understood. I am right there with you as we explore together and move toward greater clarity, connection, and self-compassion. I bring in structured tools when it’s helpful, but I also trust your inner wisdom and aim to support its unfolding. At the core of my work is the belief that healing happens in relationship through safety, attunement, and connection. Over time, clients often notice shifts such as feeling less overwhelmed or self-critical, having a clearer understanding of themselves, and feeling more grounded and confident in how they move through their lives and relationships.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Depending on your needs, we may focus on building insight into patterns, increasing emotional and somatic awareness, or processing past experiences using trauma-informed approaches like EMDR. I often integrate parts work and mindfulness-based practices to support deeper understanding and self-compassion. Throughout, the focus is not just on reducing symptoms or generating insight, but on helping you feel more connected, grounded, and aligned with yourself in your day-to-day life.

More information on payments and coverage

We are out of network, but we find that folks who have coverage are typically covered for 50-80% of their costs. Insurance can range greatly, though, so if you're wondering if you might have coverage, you can contact us with your insurance card (front and back) and DoB, and we can check for you. If you want to do it yourself, here are the questions we suggest you ask your insurance rep: 1) What is my out-of-network deductible? 2) After the deductible is met, what is the reimbursement rate for individual psychotherapy? 3) What is the "allowed amount" for CPT code 90834 or 90834-95 (individual therapy) in zip code 10012? 4) Is out-of-network teletherapy covered? On our end, we provide a superbill at the end of each month (or upon request), which contains all the information your insurance company would need to process a claim.
