Hi, I'm Emma. Being a human and all the expectations that go along with that title can feel overwhelming and suffocating when we don't have the tools to manage our stress in healthy ways. Learning skills and gaining tools to deal with life is a key component of the therapy experience. Living in the world during this time comes with a bag full of collective trauma, confusing situations, and others' worldviews being placed upon you, making it easy to feel lost in the mix. It becomes difficult to see the forest through the trees. I am here to help you develop a strong sense of self, gain insight and self-awareness into your strengths, goals, hopes, and overall human-ness. I am also here to help you make sense of the bag you've been carrying. Let's talk about unzipping it, looking inside, keeping what's crucial, and sorting through the rest. I graduated from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) with a Master's Degree in Counseling and Human Services in 2017. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), I have been in private practice since 2020. I primarily work with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and life stressors, and transitions. Before private practice, I worked at an agency on a specialized team providing trauma therapy for adolescents and their families who have experienced complex trauma. I focus on adults who are seeking support and guidance through their struggles, using a needs-based approach. As humans, we struggle at communicating. Therefore, it can be difficult to form a connection with others where you feel heard, understood, and accepted. I am here to make observations, pose questions, and provide unconditional support. Everyone has a different starting point, and I meet you where you are comfortable. Then, we move through this journey together so you are able to reach your goals. If you're ready to start this journey, I'm here to help.
