Getting to know Emma Haberman

Maybe you feel stuck, whether in a relationship that no longer fits, weighed down by questions about identity or work, or unsure of what you truly want. On the outside, your life may look full with friends, hobbies, and a stable job, but inside you might feel stressed, disconnected, or uncertain about your next steps. At times it can feel like you’re moving through life without a clear sense of what feels authentic to you. I support deep feelers, overthinkers, and those navigating grief, identity shifts, or uncertain seasons. If you struggle with people-pleasing or wrestle with questions around love, success, and authenticity, you’re not alone. My approach is warm, intuitive, and collaborative, drawing from somatic, trauma-informed, and psychodynamic practices to help you reconnect with yourself.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In our work together, we’ll slow down and create space for reflection, paying attention to your body’s wisdom and nervous system cues. I’ll support you in building tools that help you feel more grounded, present, and aligned with your values. Therapy is a place where you don’t have to carry everything on your own, and I’d be honored to walk alongside you in that process.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My role is to support you in exploring your inner world while honoring you as the expert of your own experience. Together, we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you, using practical tools to tap into the wisdom of both your mind and body. Our work will focus on helping you embrace and integrate all parts of yourself. If this approach feels like a good fit, I invite you to reach out for a consultation.

Emma is a wonderful therapist. She is professional, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in her clients. She creates a space that feels calm and safe, even when talking about hard things. Her guidance has helped me navigate anxiety and relationships with a lot more confidence. She’s the kind of therapist who challenges you, but always with compassion.
I feel so lucky to have found Emma & Downtown Somatic Therapy. She creates a warm and welcoming environment where I can talk about uncomfortable subjects without feeling uncomfortable. I would highly recommend for others who are looking for someone to bring a little lightness to their lives and help them work through whatever they've got going on - Emma's your gal.
Emma is a caring, friendly, and very professional therapist. She listens and provides action-oriented counseling with compassion. I would highly recommend her to any friend looking for a therapist!
I cannot recommend Emma more highly. I've seen therapists off and on over the years, but no experience compares to what sessions with Emma are like. It feels like talking to a really smart, really calm, really thoughtful friend. I feel more at ease with her than I ever have in therapy before, and that's partly because I can tell that she is REALLY listening and she deeply cares about me as a person (not distracted or zoning out, like I have experienced with other therapists before!). I know that my problems aren't the "biggest" problems in the world, but they feel big to me, and Emma always makes me feel validated. In-person sessions are amazing if you're able to do in-person with her, but she's equally as amazing on Zoom.
Emma is a wonderful therapist. She creates a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment that makes it easy to open up. Her compassionate and empathetic approach truly sets her apart and she makes me feel comfortable exploring a wide range of issues and personal challenges. I appreciate her ability to listen attentively and provide insightful guidance that helps me gain clarity and develop healthy coping strategies . Overall, I highly recommend her services to anyone seeking supportive and effective mental health care.

Emma has been such an incredible support to me! From my very first session, she made me feel totally comfortable and never judged. She really listens and asks thoughtful questions that help me work through whatever's going on. Her gentle guidance has helped me tackle anxiety and relationship stuff, and I love how flexible and resourceful she is. She's always willing to adjust our sessions and share extra resources when I need them. I highly recommend Emma!
