Getting to know Farrah Yaspe

Farrah Yaspe is a bilingual Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor who brings a rich, lived understanding of cultural transition into every session, working under the clinical supervision of Dr. Melissa Marshall to ensure the highest standard of care. Born and raised in Venezuela and shaped by years of living across several countries, Farrah knows firsthand what it means to navigate identity across borders and find a sense of home within yourself when everything around you keeps shifting. She offers therapy in both English and Spanish, holding that bilingual, bicultural space with deep intention rather than treating it as a translation exercise. What should a new client know about working with you?

You are welcome to bring your full self into the room, your culture, your history, your body, and your spirit included. Farrah wants new clients to know that healing is rarely linear, and her approach reflects that truth. She weaves together cognitive-behavioral, existential, and experiential approaches, attachment theory, humanistic principles, and somatic and mindfulness-based practices, tailoring the blend to what you actually need rather than to a single fixed method. As an Experienced Yoga Teacher, she also integrates yoga philosophy into her clinical work, understanding it as a researched framework for how the body holds and releases what the mind carries, not as an add on. Clients should also know that Farrah holds space for the immigration and acculturation experience with particular depth, having lived it herself across multiple countries and cultures.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Farrah's process begins with genuinely getting to know you, your history, your cultural context, your relationships, and the goals that brought you to therapy. This early stage is unhurried, because understanding the whole person matters more than rushing toward a label. From there, she builds a therapeutic approach specific to you, drawing flexibly from CBT, attachment focused work, somatic and mindfulness based practice, and existential exploration depending on what will serve you best. For clients navigating immigration related stress or cultural adjustment, she brings particular attentiveness to how identity and belonging shift across borders. Ongoing sessions create steady space for processing, growth, and healing, with Farrah trusting that change happens not only through conversation but through the body and spirit as well. For clients drawn to that connection, she also offers yoga sessions and retreats as a complement to traditional talk therapy, because she believes healing does not only happen in a therapy chair.
