Psychotherapist
274 Madison Ave, Rm 1501, New York, NY
The provider is a “Licensed Social Worker" and is currently working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. Their current employer is Rivia Mind. *After booking, you will receive a link via IntakeQ so you can complete required intake forms prior to your appointment* The provider is a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern. I'm an LMSW with a Master of Social Work from New York University, providing telehealth therapy to adults across NY and NJ. I specialize in treating depression and anxiety through psychodynamic therapy, somatic therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches. I help clients identify the root causes of negative self-talk and behavioral patterns, while guiding them in developing practical, accessible coping strategies to self-soothe and navigate their emotional experiences. I also work extensively with individuals experiencing gender dysphoria, the significant distress that transgender and gender-expansive people may feel due to the incongruence between their gender identity and the sex assigned at birth. I've found that somatic therapy is especially effective in helping clients tolerate and process the intense emotions that often arise along their gender journey. I am incredibly passionate about LGBTQ+ focused mental healthcare. LGBTQ+ individuals have historically been marginalized both inside and outside of mental health spaces. This is particularly troubling when it comes to the higher risk of adverse outcomes that LGBTQ+ folks experience more than their cisgender or heterosexual peers due to stigmatization, bigotry, and systemic oppression. Due to this, I think it is deeply important to have clinicians who are LGBTQ+ themselves within mental healthcare to provide safe, accepting, and informed care to LGBTQ+ folks as they traverse difficulties in both their internal and external worlds. As a queer and trans clinician, I provide a safe and collaborative space for you to embrace and explore yourself and all facets of your identity.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I want you to know that my therapeutic approach is intentionally collaborative. You are the expert in the room, the authority on your own feelings and experiences. My role as the clinician is to create a safe, warm, and comfortable atmosphere while providing the therapeutic tools to help you navigate those experiences. It is completely normal to feel nervous and to take time to warm up. My hope is that, through building a collaborative and supportive therapeutic alliance, you feel ready to engage in sessions and embark on your mental health journey, with me serving as a guide to support you along the way.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our sessions, I offer a calm and grounded presence. We’ll begin by getting to know each other, what brought you here, what you’re hoping to explore or change, and how I can support that process. Sessions may include exploring past experiences that inform your current emotions or behaviors, identifying thought patterns and beliefs that impact your daily life, or tuning into the physical sensations that accompany stress or discomfort. With psychodynamic therapy, we’ll gently uncover patterns rooted in early experiences. With cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), we’ll build insight and develop more adaptive ways of thinking and responding. With somatic therapy, I’ll guide you through grounding and body-based techniques to help you tolerate and process difficult emotions, especially useful when working with anxiety, trauma, or gender dysphoria. You can expect a session that is conversational and paced at your comfort level. Sometimes we’ll sit with heavy things; other times we’ll laugh, explore, and celebrate moments of insight or progress. Therapy with me is about finding connection in your thoughts, your body, and your self and building the internal tools to carry that connection with you long after our sessions end.
