Dr. Geetanjali Chugh, LCSW, PhD

Psychotherapist
205 Hudson St, New York, NY
Life doesn't always unfold as planned. Sometimes we lose ourselves in relationships, face unexpected transitions, or carry wounds that quietly shape how we move through the world. I know this intimately-not just as a therapist, but as someone who has lived it. As a therapist of color with South Asian roots and nearly two decades of experience across three continents, I work with high achievers and global citizens navigating trauma, grief, complex relational and career transitions, and living between cultures. My clients are seeking to develop deeper self-awareness, heal past pain, exploring profound spiritual question and find meaning beyond external success. As a MAPS-certified provider, I offer psychedelic integration therapy to help you ground expanded states of awareness in practical, sustainable change.

Getting to know Dr. Geetanjali Chugh

What should a new client know about working with you?

I bring a culturally attuned and integrative approach to our work together, blending third-wave CBT, psychodynamic, relational, and family systems perspectives with somatic practices like EMDR and emotional embodiment. In this space, we'll build insight into your patterns, reframe old narratives that no longer serve you, and heal and strengthen your connections—honoring both your strengths and struggles. Together, we'll create grounded, practical steps toward a more authentic and fulfilling life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

You'll find a safe, non-judgmental space where all parts of your story are welcome. I offer deep listening paired with active collaboration, attention to both your mind and body, and cultural sensitivity to the systemic contexts that shape your experience. In our sessions, we'll explore the connections between past experiences and present patterns, uncovering insights that create meaningful change. We'll work with what emerges in the moment—noticing sensations in your body, examining relational dynamics, and identifying narratives that have shaped your sense of self. Together, we'll develop practical strategies rooted in your unique values, honoring both your strengths and the courage it takes to face what's difficult. You'll gain deeper self-understanding alongside concrete tools for your daily life. If you're ready for meaningful change, willing to do the uncomfortable inner work, and seeking a space where you can be both challenged and held with compassion, you don't have to navigate this path alone. I invite you to schedule a complimentary 10-minute call to explore whether we're a good fit. I'd be honored to support your journey toward healing and wholeness.
