I am passionate about working with young adults navigating the challenges of transitioning into adulthood. This stage of life can bring uncertainty around relationships, career decisions, family expectations, independence, and figuring out who you want to become. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, career-related stress, dating and relationship concerns, and family difficulties. My approach to therapy is person-centered, warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I believe you are the expert on your own experiences, and my role is to provide a supportive environment in which you can better understand yourself, recognize your strengths, and develop healthier ways to navigate life's challenges. It is important for me to take the time to learn about your needs so I can best tailor my therapeutic approach. Together, we can work toward meaningful changes that feel realistic and authentic to you.

Getting to know Grace Ohayon

What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially when you are used to handling things on your own. I strive to create a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself, talking openly about what you are experiencing, and exploring difficult emotions without fear of judgment. One of my goals is to especially support clients who are uncertain about their expectations from therapy. I believe therapy is a collaborative process built on trust and respect. My goal is to help you recognize the strengths you already possess while supporting you in developing greater confidence, healthier coping strategies, and a better understanding of yourself. You do not have to have everything figured out before beginning therapy—we can work through it together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During our first sessions, I will take time to learn about you, what has been bringing you to therapy, and what you would like to change or better understand. I look forward to learning about your history, goals, and current circumstances. Together, we will identify your goals and explore the experiences, relationships, thoughts, and emotions that may be contributing to the challenges you are facing. Because I use a person-centered approach, therapy will be tailored to your individual needs rather than following a one-size-fits-all process. As our work progresses, we will build upon your existing strengths, develop healthy coping strategies, and help you take meaningful steps toward your goals. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques when appropriate to help clients recognize connections between their thoughts and behaviors and develop healthier ways to respond to challenges. Throughout the process, I aim to provide a warm, supportive, and collaborative environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered.
