Getting to know Gracia G Kuphal

Hi! I'm Geraldine. I'm a Licensed Therapist and Perinatal Mental Health Specialist (PMH-C) in Fairfax, VA with over 15 years in Metal Health. I support women through every stage of the perinatal journey. My practice focuses on helping women navigate Pregnancy Anxiety, Postpartum Depression, Perinatal OCD, Birth Trauma, and the complex emotional changes that come with becoming a new mother. I offer evidence-based therapies including EMDR for trauma, and I create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported. Whether you're trying to conceive, adjusting to new motherhood, or struggling with anxiety or depression during or after pregnancy, I’m here to help! You don’t have to do this alone — reach out today to schedule a free consultation. Let’s take the first step together.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I understand the unique mental health needs that come with pregnancy, postpartum, and new motherhood—whether it’s anxiety, intrusive thoughts, grief, identity shifts, or just feeling overwhelmed. You don’t have to pretend everything’s okay. It’s okay to say you’re not loving every minute of motherhood.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

First we schedule an Initial Intake Session, where we’ll explore your current concerns, mental health history, and goals for therapy. Then, we schedule weekly or biweekly sessions for follow-up appointments.

It is so hard for some of us. You know. Birth. Just triggering you back to your entire life history. "Support" seems like just a word, but it really is everything. It means "You are not alone", "Many people have gone through the same" and "We do not talk enough about our own biology, nature and complexities". Grateful is the feeling. Thank you.
