Gretchen Escobar, LMHC

Psychotherapist
WA
I'm originally from Managua, Nicaragua, but moved to the U.S. at a tender age. Every life experience, good or bad, has taught me to appreciate, value, and learn, shaping my view of life and its subsequent challenges. I've always had a strong urge to help others. In Psychology and Therapy, I found a fitting avenue to equip individuals with tools to better and enrich their lives. Therapy, to me, is a safe space for exploring relationships, both with people and objects. I strongly believe in focusing on the social, economic, and cultural impact on an individual during therapy while treating the client as the expert of their own life. My academic qualifications include a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Chapman University and a Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies-Psychology from the University of Washington. My career has spanned various settings such as schools, mental health centers, sexual assault agencies, and private practice, addressing issues like abuse, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and more. The grave issue of perinatal and postpartum mood disorders deeply interests me, and I continually strive to expand my understanding in this area. I am firmly convinced that a blend of a non-judgmental, compassionate, committed, and cooperative approach, along with personalized psychotherapeutic methods, can successfully foster healing. It is truly an honor to participate in your journey toward healing and help you secure a better future.
