After earning her Bachelor's Degree in both Environmental Science and Hispanic Studies from Trinity College, Hadley began her professional career as a middle school teacher in New Canaan, Connecticut, while leading wilderness backpacking trips for high school students in the U.S. and abroad during the summer months. Having enjoyed the interpersonal aspects of teaching and the ability to connect with her students and campers, Hadley decided to shift gears and pursue a career in counseling. She earned her Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Ed.M. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Columbia University. As a clinician, Hadley's approach is multiculturally informed. She utilizes REBT and CBT approaches within a safe and nonjudgmental space to provide the necessary resources and tools that assist her clients in developing self-confidence and self-efficacy so they may create positive change in their own lives. Hadley has also started working with her rescue dog, *Meadow, as a certified, professional therapy team. Research shows that incorporating animals in treatment can improve symptoms of anxiety and depression and assist clients coping with trauma. Additionally, animal-assisted therapy can help therapist and client develop a strong therapeutic alliance that serves as the foundation for facilitating improved self-acceptance and interpersonal relationship skills. *Meadow will be joining Hadley in sessions at the start of 2023.
