Hana Berlin, LMFT

Psychotherapist
NY
I approach all of my clients without judgment and with the utmost respect, compassion, love, gratitude, and admiration for their courage and commitment to mental health and growth, as I believe there is nothing more important in life. I integrate a variety of therapeutic methods primarily grounded in contemplative psychotherapy, CBT, DBT, and a solution-focused orientation. It is most important to me that clients feel safe and comfortable, and that our relationship is built on transparency, trust, and active engagement, allowing clients to internalize skills, compassion, knowledge, and wisdom to lead fulfilling, meaningful, peaceful, and happy lives without regrets. I hold a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin. I have over 14 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, families, and children ages 8 to 65. My work spans group homes, outpatient clinics, schools, private practice, and in 2015, I organized and led several holistic healing mind-body international retreats. Out of personal suffering as a child came the understanding that, like a lotus born from the mud, we can transform all experiences into opportunities to increase wisdom, love, and compassion. Altruism has been a core value for me from a young age, fueling my passion and dedication to mental and physical health, spiritual growth, and optimal well-being. In my 20s, I was very physically active-running the Chicago and Dublin Marathons, teaching, and practicing daily Vinyasa Yoga. At 33, I traveled to India to experience a different culture and deepen my exploration of holistic healing. What began as a 10-week trip evolved into living primarily in Asia over the last six years, immersing myself in Ancient Indian Wisdom. Due to COVID, I recently returned to the U.S. While I still love to run, I now spend most of my time meditating and making space to connect to and through nature.
