Getting to know Hanna Derrig Petrycki
I believe there are many portals for healing. I like to approach therapy from a trauma-based, strength-based, and evidence-based lens. I work with individuals and couples who are seeking self-trust, confidence, and learning how to reduce self-blame. Together, I can help provide a felt sense of safety within oneself. I allow emotions to be held while conflicts are navigated. Restoring the mind, body, and spirit allows for wholeness, ability, and a beautiful capacity for living. You are the expert in your own life, and I help you navigate the challenges, joy, and healing. I hold a Master's in Social Work from New York University and a Bachelor's degree from The New School, which inform my compassionate and informed approach to therapy.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I am very passionate about the work I do. My goal with therapy is to allow the client to restore a content sense of self. I am a licensed therapist and social worker who specializes in anxiety, substance use and relationships. Therapy is a collaborative process & I allow you to bring what you want to the sessions.
I approach my clients with comfort, warmth, authenticity and free of judgment. I love helping clients work towards emotional freedom and self confidence in order to build meaningful lives.

I came to Hanna in a period of profound darkness, not sure which way was up. After our first session together, I felt at ease knowing that my own recovery and mental health journey was in good hands. After our first few sessions, I was actually excited for therapy every week. She's an action oriented therapist— I leave almost every session with objectives and things that I can work on before I see her again, which has been so helpful. I'm finally optimistic about the future, and I can't recommend her enough.
