Congratulations on taking this first step on your therapy journey. I know it may seem overwhelming, but I am here to help you through this process. I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, and seniors navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Therapy can be hard work, and I like to utilize a collaborative approach to help you achieve your goals. My approach I think it is important for a therapist to be able to implement multiple approaches to the therapy process in order to best serve a client. I do predominantly utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed approaches, but I may modify the approach to best meet your needs and goals. My main focus is helping you make progress and meet your identified goals. My focus I work with adolescents, adults, and seniors who are experiencing mood difficulties such as depression or anxiety, have a trauma history, or are working through changes in their life. I will work collaboratively with you to develop a plan and goals that will allow you to achieve them and live a more fulfilled life. My communication style Relationship and communication are so important in therapy, and I focus on maintaining open communication to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment. My journey to mental healthcare I initially was drawn to being a therapist because I wanted to help others meet life's challenges and understand that sometimes we need a partner/support on that journey. I have worked with many different populations over the course of my career, including children, teens, adults, and seniors. Additionally, I have experience working in many different settings, including community mental health, inpatient mental health units, juvenile justice, nursing homes, and adult corrections. I believe these varied experiences and populations have helped to make me a well-rounded therapist.
