Getting to know Holly Milne

Are you struggling with poor communication or emotional disconnection? Overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, or anger? Feeling stuck, unfulfilled, or lacking purpose? I specialize in helping clients address these core issues. We'll collaborate on a plan to explore difficult emotions, foster personal growth, and get your life back. My practice is rooted in the power of relationship. You are the expert on your life, and I am a supportive guide and skilled partner. I meet you exactly where you are to jointly find the clarity needed to create real, lasting movement toward the life you want.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My practice is rooted in the power of relationship. With trust and genuine connection, we establish the secure foundation that helps you deeply explore your past, process your present experiences, and confidently envision your future. Therapy with me is collaborative. You are the expert on your life, and I am a supportive guide and skilled partner in your journey. We'll address emotional wounds and transform old patterns that hold you back. Our work together will help you build greater self-awareness, self-acceptance, self-compassion, and self-love, allowing you to live authentically, guided by your “True Hum.”

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I specialize in providing confidential counseling specifically tailored to men. For too long, the traditional mental health field has failed to fully address how men experience and express their struggles—often showing up as anger, isolation, or burnout rather than sadness. For men, mental health struggles are often viewed as a personal failure or a sign of weakness. My approach acknowledges and breaks through the cultural stigma you face. I use evidence-based, strengths-focused therapy to create a non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and supported. Together, we move past surface issues with an action-oriented plan to support deep healing and achieve your goals. This strategy involves a three-pronged approach: 1) managing current symptoms and triggers in the present, 2) resolving old issues from the past, and 3) building resilience for the future. We won’t just talk about problems. This isn't passive therapy—it's an engaged partnership dedicated to harnessing your strengths to achieve real, tangible change and get you living the life you want.
