Isabelle Wilkinson, LMHC

Isabelle Wilkinson, LMHC

Psychotherapist
NY
Hi, I'm Isabelle! I began my career at a group practice where I worked with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and eating disorders. After a pause for maternity leave, I joined this practice specifically because my values firmly align with its mission and approach. I am passionate about helping individuals who are struggling to heal their relationship to food and their bodies. My commitment to this work comes from my own lived experience recovering from years of disordered eating. I hold a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from City University of New York, Brooklyn College, and a Bachelor's degree from City University of New York, John Jay College. I work from a social justice-oriented, trauma-informed, and Health at Every Size (HAES)? framework. I believe that to achieve freedom, we must examine the ways in which we have been harmed by weight stigma, fatphobia, and external systems. The decision to start therapy is a brave first step toward a more empowered life, and I am dedicated to fostering trust in a safe environment while working collaboratively to support your individual healing process. I believe that you are the expert of your own experiences. In our work together, I will support you in building trust with yourself and your body while examining the ways past experiences and societal standards may have disrupted your ability to do so. My style is warm, genuine, and non-judgmental. I lead with empathy, understanding, acceptance, and respect. I believe our relationship is fundamental to the healing process. I value transparency, authenticity, collaboration, and am always open to feedback. I look forward to meeting you!
