Psychotherapist
TX
I love working with individuals who are seeking treatment for trauma and want to have a holistic healing process. Ideal clients are eager to heal but have not been able to do so because of not having access to resources or acknowledge that healing is what they needed. They often have been in environments that are not the best at encouraging the healing process. My greatest strength as a provider is that I have always tailored treatment based on the consumer's strengths and discovers attributes that promote autonomy holistically. I tailor evidence-based treatment to fit the consumer's cultural needs. Furthermore, I have a particular interest in addressing complex trauma, PTSD in veterans and first responders, infertility, and women's issues, and recognizing the unique and sensitive nature of these concerns. I am dedicated to offering compassionate and effective services to individuals within this population. I have a commitment to personal and professional growth is evident through her training in play therapy, where she is actively working toward certification as a play therapist. Additionally, I am an AutPlay-trained and certified therapist, demonstrating her proficiency in working with individuals who benefit from this therapeutic approach. I have been part of a research and scholarly speaking team of Walden University doctoral students who have been accepted to be part of conferences such as the 2024 Black Mental Health Symposium (BMHS) and the 2024 Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (SACES) conferences. I have also co-authored of the chapter “Cultivating Compassion: Navigating the Depths of Cultural Self-Awareness in Counseling Training and Education” in the textbook Culturally Sustainable Counseling Curricula in Online Higher Education. I also serve as part of Adler Graduate School's faculty as an Adjunct Faculty teaching graduate-level counseling course.
