Getting to know Jaimelyn Purves
Aloha! I’m Jaimelyn, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC). I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Minnesota. With over a decade of professional experience in mental health, trauma, and addiction—and more than 16 years in personal sobriety—I bring both professional insight and lived understanding to my work.
I specialize in supporting individuals with co-occurring disorders—those navigating both mental health challenges and substance use or other behavioral addictions. My therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and a Person-Centered framework, helping clients move toward clarity, healing, and lasting change.
Outside of session, I love taking my Golden Retriever, Walter, for walks and spending time outdoors, grounding myself in nature and connection. I look forward to learning more about you and walking alongside you on your journey of transformation.
