*After booking, you will receive a link via IntakeQ so you can complete required intake forms prior to your appointment.* With over 30 years of experience in behavioral health, I specialize in helping individuals overcome chronic mental health conditions, trauma, and co-occurring disorders. My journey into this field began with a pivotal moment in my life. While working as a music teacher at a summer camp, I found myself guiding a young camper down from a rooftop after a suicide threat. That experience shifted my focus from teaching music to understanding and addressing the deeper struggles people face. Since then, I've dedicated my career to empowering individuals to build lives they define as worth living, no matter how challenging the circumstances. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Syracuse University and a Bachelor's degree from Ithaca College. I bring extensive experience and training to my practice, including expertise in motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance & commitment therapy (ACT), and cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for trauma. My work focuses on mood disorders, anxiety, psychosis, substance use, borderline personality disorder, depression, and trauma. I chose these areas deliberately, inspired by personal encounters and decades of professional experience. I understand the profound impact that social, economic, and cultural factors can have on mental health and prioritize care that reflects the whole person.
