3 Columbus Cir, 15th Fl, New York, NY
I am a psychotherapist with several core areas of expertise including eating disorders, anxiety, depression, sexuality, intimacy, gender identity, alternative lifestyles, sexual abuse/trauma, and PTSD. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Hunter College, City University of New York. I view the therapeutic relationship I share with my clients as the most valuable tool for our work together. I engage with my clients as an equal and as the human self that I am—with authenticity, humor, and emotion. I always consider social context and the ways our environment shapes us, especially considering systems of power, oppression, and privilege.

Getting to know Jana Keith-Jennings

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy is grounded in intersectional, anti-oppressive, fat justice, queer, feminist, and gender theories, as well as my own experiences as a non-binary (they/them) queer person. I strive to maintain a therapy environment that is collaborative, genuine, non-judgmental and social justice informed.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The start of treatment is about establishing rapport and creating a feeling of safety in the relationship. I want to understand what you’re hoping to get from your therapy experience and what I can do, as your provider, to support your journey. From there, we can focus on strategies to move you forward so you can feel that each and every session is productive, uplifting, and helping you build more vitality and joy in your life.
