Getting to know Janae Heaney

Hello, I'm Janae. There are many components that make up each of us, and I believe that by recognizing and addressing mental, physical, social, and spiritual health, one can move towards a wholesome and healthy life. I have a passion for helping my clients learn new skills, build healthy habits and relationships, and follow their values. Together, we develop a space for self-reflection, growth as a unique individual, and build lasting and sustainable changes that will help you live a value-centered life. In 2020, I graduated from the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis with a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work. Now, as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), I have been working with individuals for 4 years. I believe in every person's ability to change, grow, and live a meaningful life. I believe in providing a safe place, calming atmosphere, and meeting clients where they are. In order to meet clients' needs, my work is highly collaborative and involves exploring values, motivation, goals, ambivalence, and learning new skills. I utilize techniques and perspectives such as humanistic, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness. Everything that makes up who you are is your unique foundation. My goal is to help you identify the things that might be getting in the way and to walk with you on your journey towards healing in whichever direction is best for you.
