Getting to know Janet Hardin
A note to a prospective client....Hi! I'm Janet Hardin LCSW. I have my dream job which is providing broad based therapy to you after we get to know one another a bit. I use several different types of counseling, mainly CBT. However, the magic of it is that we can work it out and decide together. Your experiences and mine can collide and mesh to build the therapeutic relationship which fosters growth for each. My career started by taking blood pressures in a hospital; then group home coordinator for developmentally delayed adults,. I worked at a psychiatric ER, in private practice, I was Clinical Director at a rehab, and was an in home therapist at the Area Agency on Aging.
For the past three years, I have been doing remote therapy online. How cool it is! We can just relax and talk. My ideal client is the one I am sitting with...I want to meet you. We are all people in process of becoming (who we are or want to be) I work well with all manner and kinds of people with all sorts of issues.
I studied at the University of Maryland for my BA. My first job was as a social worker at a psychiatric hospital. I volunteered full time at a Women's Center for 3 years. Later I went back to school and got my Master's in Social Work from Temple University. I was usually the oldest one in the class so I adored young people. Now I am the oldest one in the room so I adore older people too. I have a broad spectrum of clients and a broad base for my services provided. So I. say "Pick me! I want to be your therapist."
Last thing, for the past 3 years my score has been 4.8-5.0 out of 5 rated by my clients. I am also into neuroscience and trauma going forward. Thank you for your time.
