Getting to know Jason Hill

When we become willing to openly discuss whatever is troubling us with an experienced and understanding professional, things change. And change is good! You and I will determine what your goals are, what motivates you, and what is working well for you already. By focusing on solutions instead of problems, we can improve mood, self-esteem, relationships, self-concept, and more in a relatively short period of time. We can also discover how our past experiences color our thoughts and feelings about the present, and decide whether or not these thoughts and feelings are working for us. If not, I will help you find a new way forward. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, which equips me to support you with empathy and expertise throughout this process.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the States of New York and New Jersey. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from Oberlin Conservatory and a Masters’ Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. I am trained to work with adults, primarily though I also work with older adolescents. I have received training and work experience at several agencies in New York City, including Mt. Sinai Beth Israel, Inter-Care, Argus Community, START Treatment and Recovery Centers, CHE Behavioral Health, and Metropolitan Center for Mental Health. Over the course of my 12 years of training and work in this field, I have practiced in different settings and with a diverse clientele. However, I have specialized in community-based outpatient clinics. I have a special interest in working with artists and musicians and with those struggling with substance abuse and addiction.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I take a client-centered and solution-focused approach, utilizing a blend of cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic styles. I focus on uncovering what motivates my clients, as we build on what is already working. I go at your pace, am very patient and follow your lead, thought I am active and will provide you feedback. I'm not just a blank slate.

More information on payments and coverage

I am an In-Network provider with Northwell Direct Tier 1 plans. We provide out-of-network billing support for reimbursement for all other clients. If we are not in-network with your plan we will work to get you significant reimbursement for the cost of your sessions. We submit claims on behalf of our patients so that you don’t have to deal with your insurance company. Here’s how works. Before you start therapy we will collect your insurance information, check your insurance benefits, provide you with an estimate of those benefits, and then allow you to make the most educated decision possible about your investment in therapy. If you decide to work with us, we will submit your insurance claims every week and give you access to the portal to check the status of the reimbursements. It is our goal to always remain transparent and to make the process of insurance reimbursements as clear as possible.

Jason was awesome! Always helping me with anything i was going through and giving me plenty of great advice.
Should of done it long time ago. I was hesitant in the beginning but Jason helped me to see myself in a different angle.
not great. seen Jason for over a year. and unfortunately ended over some very unempathetic interactions. It hits especially hard when you think that you have an established understanding and history with a therapist that you have seen for so long.
I've interacted with many therapists and Jason stands out in a league of his own. He is very professional and yet accommodating. Nowhere else have I experienced the same degree of acceptance, depth of expertise, patience, honesty, trust and humility. I whole heartedly recommend Jason and wish I could go back in time and recommend him to myself sooner.
Jason is an amazing therapist. He comes to every session on-time, well-prepared and ready to listen. He's extremely friendly and easy to open up to. Every session he will bring up topics and points discussed in previous sessions, and I really get the feeling that he goes above and beyond for each of his clients. I really appreciate his insights every session and would recommend him to anyone.
I am very thankful to have found Jason as my therapist, especially when I was at my lowest. He makes it very easy to talk to him, he listens and I haven't felt any sort of judgement or bad vibes. He's helped me to a point where I can lower the amount of therapy I get but I know I can always depend on him when I need a check in session or two.
My now husband and I started seeing Jason for premarital counseling. Jason is a thoughtful and attentive therapist who tailors each session to our unique needs. His practical exercises and careful listening have helped us gain a deeper understanding of how we can improve our relationship. Highly recommend!
Jason is great. Flexible with appointments, including evening appointments, and he is very good at what he does. Highly recommended.
Jason is absolutely amazing! We could not recommend him more highly for couples therapy. He is extremely thoughtful, intuitive, and a pleasure to be around. 6/5 stars!
