I am J. Bruce Hillenberg, PhD, ABPP. I have practiced clinical psychology since 1984. I specialize in stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and life transitions. I guide clients to greater psychological flexibility. This means growing beyond the painful past, embracing the present moment with courage and gratitude, and being fearless in facing the future. I guide clients away from emotional pain, unhelpful thinking, and behavioral avoidance towards wisdom and improved resilience. I work best with clients who have a solid reason for entering therapy. Clients who are willing to face fears, practice patiently, willing to develop self-compassion, and can tolerate facing the truth about their life, work best with me.
