“I was very reluctant to go to my first appointment, having been very disheartened and let down by a previous therapist. I didn't think I could open up again, much less to someone new. Jennifer knew of my cautiousness because I told her about it when we spoke on the phone before having an appointment. It really was such an amazing experience, if you can call talking about your pain amazing. Jennifer was gentle and so kind in her approach. It seemed like she really considered that I was very scared about even thinking about trusting a new therapist. When she asked a question I did not want to answer, she said it was okay and told me that when I was ready, she'd be open to listening to whatever it was I didn't want to say to her. THAT was the moment I knew I could see being able to trust her and feel safe with her as my therapist. ”
