Getting to know Jennifer Swanson

I am a licensed master social worker and received my training at New York University and NYC H+H Bellevue Hospital. I am currently providing trauma-informed psychotherapy to adolescents and adults, both in-person and remotely. Our lives are full of unexpected changes and transitions, some surprising and some planned. Accepting and adapting to change can be challenging and it often strains our relationships and impacts our lives in unexpected ways. If you find that you are having difficulty working through life changes, moving beyond a past trauma, or coping with day-to-day stress, you are not alone. I work collaboratively with clients to process their experiences, foster personal growth, and when necessary, to heal from traumatic events. I have particular training in working with PTSD, generalized anxiety, and depression, and in our work together we can develop and focus on personalized goals such as improving relationships, navigating interpersonal conflict, building self-esteem, and reducing stress. When a client brings me their story, we work together to understand it through trust, curiosity, humor, and perseverance. I will work with you in a collaborative and nonjudgmental way that is informed by a holistic therapeutic approach and genuine, compassionate conversations.
