“Can't say enough good things. She was able to get me over 20+ years of anger toward a parent in just a few sessions like an off switch was flipped. Never thought that was even possible. I always feel listened to & when it comes to advising on how to handle issues better, it's a realistic & feasible approach for me.”

Getting to know Jess McMahon

You have chosen to take the first step in seeking out a mental health professional. Whether you are struggling to manage feelings of depression and anxiety, experiencing the stresses of parenthood, or having difficulty coping with emotions and negative thoughts, I am here to help. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey and Pennsylvania with over 13 years of experience. I have worked with young adult and adult clients dealing with mood and anxiety disorders, clients having difficulty with setting boundaries and people-pleasing behaviors, and clients struggling with life transitions (college, parenthood, and everyday stressors). My counseling style is warm and non-judgmental. I believe in meeting you "where you are at" and that therapy should be a collaborative approach, with you as the expert on your life. We will work together to create goals and process through challenges. I look forward to working with you!

What should a new client know about working with you?

My goal for our first therapy session together is to have you feel heard. I like therapy sessions to feel like a conversation; I will be there to listen, support, and provide insight. I hope to create a safe environment that will allow you to share and open up while we create a positive working relationship. We will work together to create attainable goals and we will discuss progress each week.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
