Hello, I'm Jess. Taking the first step to be vulnerable and receive support for whatever life challenges you may be facing currently can be incredibly daunting, so thank you for taking this moment to explore my profile. We all experience times in our lives, some brief, others longer term, that impact our well-being and overall functioning, especially if the tools we typically use don't seem to be effective. I would be honored to walk along with you as you process these experiences and explore new tools and ways of managing the emotions and situations that are present. I graduated from the University of Illinois with a master's degree in social work in 2006 and obtained my clinical license in 2008. I have been working as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since then, primarily with adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder. I have worked in community mental health, hospice care (including bereavement services), suicide prevention, and with veterans. I have also completed 200-hour and 300-hour yoga teacher training and am certified in integrative somatic trauma therapy. I focus on working with adults, exploring the mind-body connection: what this is, and how we might strengthen our awareness and application of this relationship through somatics and mindfulness-based therapy. I practice trauma-informed care and honor you as the expert in your history and experience. Additionally, I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, client-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused techniques. My goal with you as my client is to help strengthen your sense of agency to make meaningful changes in your life and to cultivate a trusting relationship in which you feel heard. If you feel that we might be a good fit, I invite you to reach out and begin this journey together. Let's work towards a healthier, more fulfilling life.
